FUJITSU GENERAL AMERICA, INC. RECEIVES EMMY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING
ACHIEVEMENT IN TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT FOR ITS CONTRIBUTION TO
THE PLASMA INDUSTRY
--- National Association
of Television Arts and Sciences Bestows Prestigious Award For Achievement
in the “Development of Plasma Displays" --
NEW YORK, NY- NEW YORK, NY-Fujitsu,
the leader in plasma display technology, was honored last night
with an Emmy Award for its efforts and accomplishments in plasma
display development. At the gala event hosted by the National Association
of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) at the Marriott Marquis
Hotel in New York City Fujitsu was among the companies recognized
for making significant contributions to television production, broadcasting
and viewing.
Fujitsu’s Tedd Rozylowicz,
Senior Vice President, stated: “We are extremely proud to
receive this award in recognition of our development in the plasma
industry. Fujitsu looks forward to continue to lead the way in technological
innovation in the plasma industry by building on our history of
achievement.”
Fujitsu’s Innovative
History
The Emmy Award acknowledges Fujitsu’s
longstanding commitment to the plasma industry and its status as
the most influential company in the development of plasma monitors.
Research and development beginning in the 1960’s produced
breakthroughs that led to the first color plasma display in 1993
followed by Fujitsu’s first 42-inch plasma display in 1996.
The monitor offered an alternative and superior solution from traditional
CRT displays, by providing a thin, lightweight display with features
such as a viewing angle of 160 degrees and a widescreen aspect ratio.
In addition to the introduction of
its first 42-inch plasma display monitor, Fujitsu also worked towards
the development of the first plasma digital video processor. The
processor enabled Fujitsu to manufacture and introduce the first-ever
HD (high-definition) plasma monitor in 1999. Fujitsu’s subsequent
developments in digital video processing led to the creation of
the single-chip AVM (Advanced Video Movement) digital processor.
The proprietary AVM processor is currently in all the latest-generation
Fujitsu Plasmavision SlimScreen® monitors and provides the most
realistic reproduction of natural movement while also reducing artifacts
and flicker inherent in PDP technology.
Today, Fujitsu Plasmavision SlimScreen
monitors can be found in many different environments. From home
theaters, to production studios and sound-mixing stages, Fujitsu
plasma displays provide superb video and graphic reproduction while
elegantly blending into any room or studio décor.
Convergent Visual Medium
Versatility in Every Environment
Fujitsu’s Plasmavision displays
are the ultimate Convergent Visual Medium for a wide variety of
commercial, business, multimedia and home theater applications.
Delivering powerful big-screen impact yet measuring only a few inches
in depth, Plasmavision monitors are compatible with virtually any
digital and analog video source, including high-definition television
and the video output from a computer.
Fujitsu’s widescreen (16:9)
plasma displays are designed to outperform all other plasma displays
in their respective categories, providing dramatically higher brightness
and contrast along with ease of operation. The current line of Fujitsu
plasma displays offer a host of advanced performance and convenience
features, such as the company’s proprietary AVM digital video
processor that is optimized for the characteristics of the plasma
display screen.
In addition to superb picture quality,
Plasmavision SlimScreen displays offer unparalleled installation
flexibility. They can be either hung on a wall or ceiling, or mounted
on a stand, and their design enables all cables to be hidden from
view, and easily routed to an A/V system or computer.
